Municipal & Administrative

Practice Overview

Attorneys at Smith Elliott Smith & Garmey serve as counsel to several local municipalities and school districts as well as municipal and quasi-municipal agencies. Our attorneys consult regularly with elected and appointed officials, board members, committees and municipal employees. We represent our clients on ongoing as well as potential litigation in both state and federal courts. We also work closely with government officials in negotiating and drafting contracts, ordinances, addressing employment issues and interacting with other municipal and state governments as well as state and federal agencies.

Our experience working with municipalities and state and federal agencies also has provided valuable insight when we represent individual property owners and developers before local and state governmental entities.

We are mindful of the significant budgetary restraints that face our clients. Accordingly, throughout our representation we strive to be both effective and efficient. Using this approach has enabled Smith Elliott to maintain longstanding relationships with our municipal clients.
