The Biddeford Saco Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with University College, will host the first annual Business and Professional Women’s Forum on Wednesday, March 2, at the Hampton Inn in Saco, 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Admittance is free to the public, but reservations are required. Call 282-1567 today.
The forum will celebrate the achievements of women from the Biddeford and Saco area. It is geared toward those in business, as well as women who want to start a business or are in need of additional business knowledge.
The meeting format will start at 8 a.m. with a continental breakfast, followed by the first keynote speaker Cheryl Carrier, president and founder of Toddle Inn Childcare.
A panel discussion by local women in business, follows. A networking break will give attendees an excellent opportunity to meet with each other.
Becky Harkema, executive director of the Northern York County YMCA, will present the second keynote speech.
A second resources and information panel of local women in business will follow, offering information on permits and licenses; education and training; hiring, firing and the law; financing; and insurance.
The moderator of the panel sessions will be Voula Willette, a partner in the Golden Rooster Restaurant in Saco.
Co-chairs of the event are Cynthia Chadwick-Granter of Bank of America; Jackie Center of Paychex; and Kathy Authier of University College at Saco.
