Celine practices in the area of civil litigation, specifically focusing on medical malpractice, wrongful death, catastrophic personal injury, and the Federal Tort Claims Act. According to Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly, in 1997, Celine had two of the top ten jury verdicts in the Commonwealth. In 2001, she was identified as a member of the “Elite Few:" one of twelve attorneys in the Commonwealth who had multiple million-dollar verdicts or settlements over the previous two years. Since joining Smith Elliott Smith & Garmey in 2002, Celine has continued her tradition of vigorous representation of her clients, and has successfully handled serious medical malpractice cases involving orthopedics, cerebral palsy, neurosurgery, obstetrics, and cardiac care.
A key component of Celine’s practice is her to ability to blend her extensive litigation experience and comprehensive medical knowledge to effectively communicate with and for her clients. She represents clients before medical negligence screening panels and jury and bench trials at the state and federal levels.
Celine’s pro bono work includes serving as a guardian ad litem for children whose parents are embroiled in custody suits, and as counsel for the Middlesex County 4-H Fair. She is currently a member of the advisory board for Seeds of Hope, in Saco, Maine, and a member of the stewardship committee at St. David’s Episcopal Church in Kennebunk.
